El Raval
Barcelona's El Raval used to be an walled-in slum and red-light area. But as many things in Barna this district has had a total make-over and is now an interesting, vivid and exciting neighborhood. It houses mainly artists, students and musicians and this gives it his non-conformist character. Although El Raval is not considered as a great tourist crowd puller, still there are some attractions of great artistic and architectural value. But if you really want to discover the alchemy of this up-and-coming borough, it will just be enough to stroll around the little alley's and get familiar with the alternative scene,... It is authentic, stimulating, jazzy, spirited, and full of personality. Do not forget this quarter is quickly becoming the city's new "IN" area and it earns a compelling visit.
El Raval de Barcelona era un barrio amurallado bajo y de mala fama. Pero como tantas cosas en Barna, este districto
ha tenido una renovación de imagen total
y es ahora un barrio interesante, viva, y excitante. Aloja principalmente a las
artistas, los estudiantes y los músicos y esto le da su carácter del
non-conformista. Aunque El Raval no se considera como gran tirador turístico,
hay todavía algunas atracciones de gran valor artístico y arquitectónico. Pero
si realmente deseas descubrir la alquimia de este barrio prometedor, será
apenas bastante para pasearse alrededor las callejas pequeñas y ponerse familiar con la escena alternativa,...
Es auténtico, estimulante, jazzístico, espiritoso y lleno de personalidad. No
se olvide este cuarto está volviéndose rápidamente la nueva área ‘IN' y gana
una visita compeliendo.

El Born
El Born, considered as the ‘SOHO' of Barcelona, is one of the most popular neighborhoods of Barcelona. Despite humble beginnings as a settlement built on top of a medieval, El Born has grown into being one of the most fashionable places in the city. Although it is the most trendy borough, El Born has been able to keep its Catalan atmosphere through the small alleys, little piazzas, the passeigh del Born with lovely trees on the side... The ideal neighborhood to go shopping in the afternoon and have a drink later on in one of the great cocktailbars.
El Born, considerado como el 'SOHO' de Barcelona, es uno de los barrios más
populares de Barcelona. A pesar de principios humildes como un asentamiento
construido encima de un área medieval, El Born se ha convertido en uno de los
lugares más de moda en la ciudad. Aunque sea el barrio más a la moda, El Born ha
podido mantener su atmósfera catalana por los pequeños callejones, plazas
pequeñas, el passeigh del Born con árboles encantadores en el lado... El barrio
ideal para ir de compras por la tarde y tomar una copa más tarde en uno de los
bares de coctel.

L'Eixample
Barcelona takes pride in the fact that it has more Art-Nouveau buildings than any other European City. If you are somewhat inquisitive, than you should take a walk through the Eixample neighborhood. It is in this ‘New town', which was build in extension of the old city walls, that you can encounter a glorious grid of 18th- and 19th-century buildings, including the most vibrant illustrations of the moderniste (read Art-nouveau) movement. The Eixample is characterized by long aesthetic boulevards and square blocks with chamfered corners (named illes in Catalan, manzanas in Spanish). Even buildings that are discreetly disguised in the side-streets, are mostly as enchanting as the prominent ones on the elegant avenues. Within these impressive architectural compositions, you discover a borough that is gracious, sophisticated, and above all stylish. Parade on the Passeigh the Gracia, lounge about the Rambla de Catalunya, and linger through the small bystreets, and above all, do not forget to look around for some hidden treasures!
Barcelona se enorgullece del hecho que tiene mas Art-Nouveau construcciones que cualquier otra Ciudad europea. Si estas un tanto inquisitivo, deberías tomar un paseo a través del barrio de l'Eixample. Esta en esa ‘Ciutat Nueva', construido en ampliación de la Cuitat Vella, que te puedes enfrentar con una cuadrícula gloriosa de edificios del 18th y 19th siglo, incluyendo las ilustraciones mas brillantes del movimiento del Modernismo( Lee: Art-nouveau). L' Eixample se caracteriza de hermosos bulevares largos y manzanas recuadradas. Incluso edificios que se esconden discretamente en las bocacalles, que están a veces si encantador que los prominentes en las grandes vías destacadas. Dentro de estas composiciones arquitectónicas impresionantes, descubres un barrio que esta gracioso, distinguido y sobre todo elegante . Desfile en el Passeigh de gracia, gandulea sobre la Rambla de Catalunya y callejea a través de las bocacalles, y no se olvide encima de todo de echar una mirada alrededor para algunos tesoros ocultos!

Barceloneta
Barceloneta is the old fishing neighborhood of Barcelona. Its name states that it is ‘little Barcelona', and this is indeed reflected in the typically Barcelonese chessboard street structure. Still Barceloneta has some very special features that you can not find anywhere else in the city. It has kept it plain character and in the streets you can still encounter old Spanish ladies, with walking-canes, strolling slowly over the pavement. The allies are small and long, and are dressed up with high very old houses. On every balcony you will see laundry stream with the cool sea breeze. Retired fisherman play board games on the little plaza's, and sometimes it even looks as if time goes slower here then in the rest of Barcelona. Still Barceloneta is not as much know for its light-spirited and peaceful village, but rather for its characterizing beach which lies on the border of the borough. Barceloneta beach is as multifunctional as a grand shopping-center. As you are tanning under the great Spanish sun, you are offered al sort of services. For 5 euro's you can get a Thai massage, or a mojito made freshly for you, or two bears and a cola, or some coconut, watermelon,... And with this you get a show for free: The Barceloneta beach show! More than on any other beach, you see things happening here... There is always something to celebrate and enjoy!
Barceloneta es el viejo pueblo de pescadores de Barcelona. Su nombre simboliza que es ‘ El Barcelona pequeño' , y esto se reflejada en su plano de calles tipo tablero de ajedrez. Todavía Barceloneta tiene algunas rasgos muy especiales que no se puede encontrar en otra parte del metrópoli. Lo ha guardado el carácter ordinario y en los calles se puede aún encontrar a una señora catalana vieja, paseándose lentamente con su bastón. Los aliados son pequeños y largos, y están arreglado con altas viviendas añosas. En cada balcón verá corriente del lavadero aleteando con la brisa marina fresca. Pescadores jubilados juegan juegos de tablero en las pequeñas plazoletas, y a veces parece que el tiempo avanza mas despacio aquí que en los otros partes de Barcelona. Todavía Barceloneta no es tanto popular por su carácter indiferente y simpático, sino para su playa pintoresco que esta localizada en el borde del barrio. La playa de Barceloneta es tan multifuncional como un centro comercial magnífico. Mientras que estas tomando el sol, te proponen todo tipo de servicios. Por 5 euros puedes conseguir una masaje tailandés, un mojito hecho frescamente para ti , puedes comprar dos cervezas y una cola, o unos trozos de coco o sandía. Y con todo eso recibes un espectáculo gratuito: ‘ El Barceloneta Beach Show'. Mas que en cualquier otra playa puedes experimentas cosas aquí... Siempre hay algo a celebrar y a disfrutar!
